Villa 5, completed in 2007, consists of eight studio apartments designed based on feedback from students. These apartments are located next to the Villa 3, Villa 4, and Villa 1 studio apartments. They are equally close to shops, restaurants, the campus (8 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by bicycle), and public transportation. Although anyone can rent these apartments regardless of the length of their stay, vacancies are relatively rare due to the high occupancy rate and the limited number of apartments.

Overview
Location: In addition to being close to the campus, Villa 5 is conveniently located near shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and bus stops. If you would like easy access to sightseeing destinations in central Japan, these apartments are about a 10-minute bicycle ride from JR Okazaki Station. This station is on the JR Tokaido Line (the major rail line connecting Osaka – Kyoto – Nagoya – Shizuoka – Tokyo), providing excellent access to Nagoya, Kanayama, Mikawa-Anjo, the seaside and hot spring resort area of Gamagori on Mikawa Bay, and Toyohashi.
Overview: The apartments are Western-style and come in two design types. Type A (6 apartments) includes a loft, with a total area of 26.3 m² (floor space 22.8 m² and loft space 3.5 m²). Type B (2 apartments) has a total area of 30 m². Both types feature high ceilings, air conditioning/heating, a large wardrobe, and a kitchen equipped with a sink, refrigerator, electric cooktop (two-burner IH induction cooker), microwave oven, toaster, electric rice cooker, and several basic cooking items (frying pan, saucepan, and kettle). Gas cooking is not available, although some long-term students purchase their own portable gas stove and use disposable gas cartridges. YAMASA provides a washing machine, study desk and chair, desk lamp, dining table and chairs, sofa, and bookshelf. Type A apartments include a foam mattress in the loft (accessed by stairs rather than a ladder), while Type B apartments include a semi-double bed and mattress (120 cm wide and 210 cm long). Bed sheets are not provided. A covered bicycle parking area is located next to Villa 3 and 4, within about 20 meters. Villa 5 apartments offer large cooking spaces, high ceilings and door openings, improved energy efficiency, and better privacy and security. The rooms were intentionally designed so that students who are 175 cm (5 ft 7 in) or taller can live comfortably in Japan. The height of desks, sinks, cooking areas, and shower heads has been increased to help prevent back pain or discomfort. All apartments are well lit and designed for comfortable single occupancy. Double-glazed windows and extensive soundproofing help reduce the impact of outside noise on living and study environments. This is the only single-occupancy apartment design that includes a sofa.
Washing Machine: A washing machine is provided by YAMASA in each apartment.
Internet: Each room is equipped with one wireless router with four 1 Gbps LAN sockets, allowing direct, free, and unlimited internet access.
Futons: Futons are not provided, but they can be rented or purchased through YAMASA. Please see “Furniture Details” on this page for more information.
