Completed in 2007, Villa 5 consists of 8 studio apartments designed based on student feedback. These apartments are located next to the Villa 3 ,Villa 4 and Villa 1 studio apartments. They are also equally close to shops, restaurants, the campus (8 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by bicycle), and public transportation. Anyone may rent these apartments, but because of the high occupancy rate and the limited number of units, vacancies are relatively rare.

Overview
Location: In addition to being close to the campus, Villa 5 is also conveniently located near shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and a bus stop. If you want easy access to sightseeing destinations in central Japan, these apartments are 10 minutes by bicycle from JR Okazaki Station. This station is on the JR Tokaido Line, the main route connecting Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Shizuoka, and Tokyo, with excellent access to Nagoya, Kanayama, Mikawa-Anjo, the seaside/hot spring resort of Gamagori on Mikawa Bay, and Toyohashi.
Overview: The apartments are western-style and come in two design types. Type A (6 apartments) has a loft and a total area of 26.3 m2 (floor area 22.8 m2, loft area 3.5 m2). Type B (2 apartments) has a total area of 30 m2. Both have high ceilings, air conditioning/heating, a large wardrobe, and a kitchen equipped with a sink, refrigerator, electric stove (two-burner IH cooker), microwave oven, toaster, rice cooker, and some cookware (frying pan, pot, and kettle). Gas cooking is not possible, but some long-term students buy their own gas stove and use disposable gas cartridges. YAMASA provides a washing machine, study desk and chair, desk lamp, dining table and chairs, sofa, and bookshelf. Type A apartments have a foam mattress in the loft (accessed by stairs, not a ladder), while Type B apartments have a semi-double bed and mattress (120 cm wide, 210 cm long), although sheets and similar items are not provided. There is a covered bicycle parking area next to Villa 3 & 4, within 20 meters. Villa 5 apartments offer a large cooking space, high ceilings and door openings, improved energy efficiency, and better privacy and security. The rooms were intentionally designed so that students 175 cm (5 feet 7 inches) or taller can live comfortably in Japan, with the desk, sink, cooking area, and shower head all raised to help prevent back pain and discomfort. All apartments are well lit and designed for comfortable single occupancy, and the double-glazed windows and extensive soundproofing reduce disturbance from outside noise to daily life and the study environment. As a single-occupancy apartment with a sofa, this is the only design of its kind.
Washing machine: A washing machine is provided in the apartments supplied by YAMASA.
Internet: Each room has one wireless router with four 1 Gbps LAN sockets, allowing direct internet connection with free and unlimited access.
Bedding: Futon is not provided, but it can be rented or purchased from YAMASA. Please see the “Furniture Details” section on this page.
