Residence L offers two apartment sizes: 2DK and 3DK. These apartments are the second largest among YAMASA’s accommodations, with the 3DK being the largest type available. They are located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Residence L apartments are usually assigned to students who plan to study at YAMASA for a longer period and are especially suitable as shared accommodation for couples or young families.
Overview
Location: These apartments are the farthest from campus in straight-line distance (1.5 km / 0.9 miles), but they are still easily accessible by bicycle. The area around the apartments offers many conveniences, including shops, restaurants, supermarkets, parks, a pond, and bus stops, with the Feel News shopping center nearby. A 24-hour convenience store is about a 7-minute walk (500 meters) away. If you are looking for a convenient location for visiting tourist destinations in central Japan, these apartments are about a 12-minute bicycle ride from JR Okazaki Station. This station is on the JR Tokaido Line (the main railway line connecting Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Shizuoka, and Tokyo), providing convenient access to Nagoya, Kanayama, Mikawa-Anjo, the marina and hot spring resort area of Gamagori on Mikawa Bay, and Toyohashi.
2DK: The 2DK apartments have two rooms and a large combined kitchen and dining room. Both rooms are tatami-style and are ideal as bedrooms. Alternatively, one room can be used as a bedroom and the other as a lounge room. The other floors are vinyl. Each apartment has a balcony, giving the rooms a bright and spacious atmosphere. Each apartment has a floor area of 35 square meters (377 square feet).
3DK: The 3DK apartments have three rooms and a large kitchen and dining room. Two of the rooms are tatami-style and are ideal as bedrooms. The third room has polished wooden flooring and is intended to be used as a lounge room. The other floors are vinyl. Both the lounge room and the main bedroom have access to the balcony, creating a bright and spacious atmosphere. Each apartment has a floor area of 48 square meters (about 521 square feet).
Common Features: Both 2DK and 3DK apartments have a separate Western-style toilet and a bathroom with a shower and bathtub. They are equipped with air conditioning and heating, and the bedrooms and lounge rooms include several large storage cabinets. A unit kitchen is also provided. The kitchen has ample space for food preparation. YAMASA provides a refrigerator, a two-burner gas stove, an electric rice cooker, a frying pan, a saucepan, and a kettle. Please note that cooking utensils (such as chopsticks or knives) are not provided, but they can be purchased cheaply at nearby shops. The lounge room includes a bookshelf, two desks, chairs, and study lamps.
Washing Machine: Because there is no coin laundry on the property and local coin laundries are considered expensive, YAMASA provides a washing machine in every apartment. At present, dryers are not available, but all apartments have a covered balcony accessible from the lounge room where laundry can be hung to dry. Bicycle parking is also available.
Internet: Each apartment has one wireless router with four 1 Gbps LAN sockets, allowing direct, free, and unlimited internet access.
Futons: Futons are not provided, but they can be rented or purchased through YAMASA. Please see “Furniture Details” on this page for more information.
