Overview
Location: These 14 studio apartments are located about a 16–20 minute walk from campus (about 7 minutes by bicycle). The apartments are situated in a very quiet residential area. JR Okazaki Station is on the JR Tokaido Line (the main railway line connecting Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Shizuoka, and Tokyo), providing convenient access to Nagoya, Kanayama, Mikawa-Anjo, the marina and hot spring resort area of Gamagori on Mikawa Bay, and Toyohashi. In addition to being close to campus, the apartments are also conveniently located near shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and bus stops.
Concept: There are a total of three apartment buildings. The apartments are Western-style rather than tatami-style, with polished wooden floors. Each apartment has a floor space of 26 square meters (about 280 square feet), and the balcony is 3.2 square meters (about 35 square feet). Each apartment includes a private bathroom with a unit shower/bath and a Western-style toilet. Because the toilet and bathroom are separate, the apartment can easily be shared. The apartments are equipped with air conditioning/heating, a large wardrobe, and a kitchen. YAMASA provides a refrigerator, an electric cooktop, and an electric rice cooker. There is no gas stove. The main room is furnished with a television, desk, chair, study lamp, bed, and bookshelf.
Washing Machine: There is no coin laundry on the property, and local coin laundries are considered expensive. Therefore, YAMASA provides a washing machine for students in each apartment. At present, dryers are not available, but all apartments have covered balconies at the back where laundry can be hung to dry. Bicycles are usually parked at the entrance of the apartments or in the courtyard. Both areas are very safe.
Internet: Each apartment has free 1 Gbps wired LAN internet and wireless access. The internet connection is provided through a fiber-optic backbone.
