Hello. I'll put something more substantive here soonishly. For the time being I would like to invite you to wander down into Zig Zag, a small not quite Irish bar in a converted bath-house that started out as a hobby designed to keep me out of mischief whenever I'm not gardening. It is basically "my place", and I endeavour to spend as much time "at" the bar as I do behind it. Try a local beer, a not so local beer, something new, a Midleton Very Rare perhaps, wake up with a cappucino, tuck into a hearty meal or just chill out. Slainte.

At the moment I'm concentrating on expanding the whiskey/whisky range. Apart from having a range of Irish and single malts larger than almost any bar is Japan, enjoying a single malt or Irish whiskey in Zig Zag is also LUDICROUSLY cheap. You'll only pay about 1/2-1/3 the cost of the same drink in Nagoya. If you don't know much about whisky/whiskey, just ask. If you tell me some of the things you like to eat or drink then I should be able to give a reasonably accurate recommendation. I can provide a sampling set as well. The Guinness is the cheapest Guinness in Japan.

Also let me apologise for not being open from Sundays to Wednesdays - I can't open daily due to my actual job, and due to worries that the attendance rate of certain students might plummet if such was the case, with dire consequences as far as visa renewal is concerned. There are plenty of other pubs in Okazaki. After Zig Zag, the bar called Montego has the next best Guinness in town, which is why I go there when Zig Zag is closed. Unfortunately their pints aren't very good on Mondays...
