JLCP - Japanese Language & Culture Program

    Objectives

    The purpose of the JLCP course is for students to experience Japan's culture while studying Japanese.
    This course involves the study of daily conversational Japanese.

    Outline

    Japanese lessons are scheduled alongside culture classes. Deepen your understanding of Japan's culture through interactive experiences. You will also find once you start using the Japanese you've learned in class it will cease to be a foreign language and will become one of your own. Culture classes include the study of traditional culture alongside everyday Japanese culture. Culture classes include Calligraphy, Tea Ceremony, cooking classes, Shamisen and musical performance, among others. The JLCP course also includes tours to Japanese land marks and lunch with Yamasa staff members.

    ※Japanese Cafe: Where students have lunch with a Yamasa staff member at a nearby cafe/restaurant. It's an opportunity to practice Japanese while having lunch together.

    Option A (Private Lessons)

    For students who wish to study over and above the JLCP schedule to improve their ability it is possible to include Option A: Private Lessons. Option A can be taken whilst studying in the JLCP program with a maximum of five lessons per week. Students can decide what they would like to study in these lessons. Students often use these lessons for review, extra conversation practice or Japanese Proficiency test preparation, among other things.

    ※Only one discount can be used at a time.

    • Return students enrolling in JLCP receive a 20% discount on their initial payment of fees.
    • Students with a Working Holiday Visa or a JET Programme Visa receive a 10% discount on their initial payment of fees.
    • For those students who complete all of their enrollment by the periods indicated below, the following discounts are applied for early payment.
      <16 weeks prior to start> 10% Discount <12 weeks prior to start> 5% Discount
    • Discounts do not apply to extra optional courses/lessons.
