Personal Info
My name is Khunpong Sorsomboon. I was born on March 28th, 1975 in
Yasotorn Province in Thailand. I lived there for a few years and then I
moved to another place because my family were public officials. We always
had to move to a different province every 5 years. Now we have a permanent
home in Bangkok, but my father still moves from one provience to another
all the time. Last year, he retired with my mother just one day before I
came to Japan.
Since I was child, I was very interested in the Japanese Language. It
has been always my dream to study Japanese Language. Unfortunately, in my
country the tuition fees are very expensive to my family, so I didn`t have
a chance to study Japanese before.
After I graduated with my Bachelor degree I immediately started working
at A.L.K. Precision work Co. Ltd. in Bangkok. In that company we had
Japanese business people coming to visit us all the time. Because of that
I had a good chance to talk with Japanese people, and that increased my
dream of learning the language.
After that experience I worked as hard as I could in order to save
money for studying the Japanese Language in Japan. I`ve worked hard for 3
years. The time passed very fast and before I`ve realized I was quitting
everything in Thailand just in order to go to Japan and follow my dream.
Then, I had to face another problem: the exchange rate between the Thailand
baht and the Japanese Yen was very expensive for me. So in Japan I had
find a part-time job in order to make money for the tuition fees for the
Yamasa Institute
So I changed my "major" from an younger engineer turning to be washing
dishes in a Chinese restaurant.
It was a very hard time, the job made me tired all the time and my
studies were progressively decreasing everyday. I was too tired and I just
couldn`t concentrate in the classes. I felt very bad about it, but finally
I make enough money to pay my tuition fee for the next 6 months. I felt
relief, because now I would really be able to accomplish my dream fully.
I really wanted to have more time to improve my Japanese studies, but
I still needed to have a part-time job. I was looking for the answer when
I found a chance to translate part of the home page from English to Thai Language.
I was so happy about it! I finally wouldn`t have to wash dishes anymore,
I could work in the Institute where I study (which would also help in
my Japanese studies) and I would work with computers (one of my favorities
hobbies). But the best thing was this job would not effect the develop
of my studies.
Now I`m studying and working as hard as I can in order to accomplish my
dream. By the time I finish one more semester it will be time to go back
home, where I intend to continue with my work, finish my personal home
page and proceed with my Japanese studies.

Japanese Business and Industrial markets are very big and the Japanese
people have considerable purchasing power. Then, I also always wanted
to study Japanese culture as much as possible.
While I had been working in a Thai Company, I had a chance to visit
some others factories and companies in Thailand. In a lot of those companies,
I noticed that they have more than one person who is Japanese working
over there. For the 3 years I had worked in that company, 80% of planning
or documents are from Japanese companies. And although those companies
are Thai companies or Europe companies, they used Japanese Language
all the time.
The reason why is because they are trading with Japan all the time.
What shows the demand of Japanese Language in Thailand. And it is even
more demand for Japanese speaking in Engineer area and those related
areas.
Japan is also a very interesting country for studying about engineering
or tecnology field or even to study Japanese language.
Personaly I had a Japanese friend, I met at work in Thailand. The more
I talked with him the more I wanted to study the Japanese language.
So then I decided to study Japanese in Japan for 1 year.
While I`m learning Japanese, I`m also studying about the culture that
has both similarities and differences from Thai culture. It has both
good and not so good points. Studying in Japan is expensive for me,
but I don't think it was a mistake, because this experience will for
sure help in my future.
Why I choose to study at the Yamasa Institute
in Okazaki
I think in Japan every where is the same because Japan is Japan. Both
big towns and small towns are the same. In a small town there is the same convenience as a
big town. So what is really important is the school you are studying
at. If the school is good you will be able to speak Japanese faster.
And also if the school is cheap you can save money. For example: a person
who lives in Tokyo must pay a bigger amount of money every day. Every
thing requires money. In addition to that a morning train has so many people,
and is so stressful and tiring. But in Okazaki it is the exact opposite. I
can go anywhere, because I have a bicycle. Even then Okazaki is not
as small as I previously tought.
Before I came to Japan I received an application from another school in
Tokyo. I tried to calculated my budget for studying in Tokyo. The
cost of living and the tuition fees were so expensive, and in addition I had
to find accommodation by myself. That was too inconvenient. After that
I looked up another school before I found the Yamasa Institute's home page.
The Yamasa home page had so much details, that after I read it I decided
to study in this Institute. I think this home page is very good. Also
the tuition fee is not that expensive. And the school provide accommodations
close to the Institute so you can walk or ride a bicycle, which is very convenient.
In addition to that my room also has internet facilities,
with which I can also study or improve my new bussiness. That is wonderful.
