On one side of the Haiden close to the Mizu-Gaki, the fruit of this ancient fruit is still used as offerings. I'm still researching the origin of the tree. The metal rods visible are used during ceremonies. From this side of the Toshogu you can get a good view of the lattice work - extremely delicate carpentry.
