Yunoyama Onsen, Mie Prefecture

Yunoyama Onsen is a hot spring resort located in Suzuka Kokutei Park at the base of Gozaisho-Dake in Mie, near where it meets Shiga prefecture. According to legend, the resort was located in the eighth century when deer were discovered bathing in its waters, thus earning the nickname, the Deer Hot Spring.

With its location 318 meters above sea level and panoramic view of Ise Bay, the resort is a year-round attraction. Tourists are also attracted to the cherry blossoms in the spring, cool temperatures in the summer, bright autumn colors, and skiing opportunities in the winter. The resort is also close to the Gozaisho-Dake ropeway where tourists can ascend to the peak of the 1,210 meter mountain to take in its sights.

How to get there:

From Nagoya Station, take the Kintetsu Line for 1 hour to Yunoyama-onsen Station. From there, it takes eight-minutes by bus from the station to the Yunoyama Onsen stop.
