The registration fee has been halved to only 5,000 Yen - and this fee is waived if....
Seasonality: Classes are slightly cheaper to provide in Off-Peak Season. This lower cost structure is also passed on in the form of reduced tuition fees.
Time/Schedule: Classes scheduled in the mornings (AM - at Yamasa defined as 09:00-13:30 inclusive) are slightly more expensive to provide than in the afternoon (PM) schedule, which is 13:40-21:00. A small surcharge of 500 yen per class will apply to classes provided on Sundays or Public Holidays. Please note that if you want to study on Sundays or Public Holidays you need to complete payment at least 56 days in advance - teachers have families and need to know when travel arrangements etc can be made. Some discounts are available, please see below.
Available Discounts: There is a 10% discount available for completion of payment more than 56 days before the start of program, or if you are enrolled student or graduate of any ACJS program, or an OCJS student with membership level standard or professional. Cancellation Fees: If you need to cancel a class, then you need to inform Yamasa in writing at least 72 hours prior to the class time to avoid a cancellation fee. If you cancel between 24 to 72 hours before the lesson, the cancellation fee is 50% of the lesson fee. If you can cancel less than 24 hours before the lesson then the cancellation fee is equal to the lesson fee.
Fees are denominated in Japanese Yen. As you can see from the table above, it is considerably cheaper (especially for longer term stays) if you pay all tuition in advance. This is because the administrative costs are lower, and these cost savings are passed onto you. If you pay for 6 weeks or more in advance and then need to shorten your stay, there is a full refund subject to the policies outlined in the "Refunds" file.
