Career transitions

A few weeks before arriving at Yamasa, Kasidis Rochanakorn (right) was directing emergency refugee relief efforts on the Bosnian/Macedonian border. As team chief of the Emergency Response Team of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) based in Geneva, Kasidis has spent more than 20 years in relief operations. After a crash course in Japanese through the SILAC program, Kasidis was posted to Tokyo where he is now UNHCR's chief of mission. Here he is pictured at Toyota Motor Company headquarters with Andrew Stilleto (left). Andrew is a Canadian who was born in Jamaica, and came to Yamasa after several years managing a business for a German company in mainland China. A fluent speaker of Mandarin, he enrolled in ultra-intensive studies at Yamasa and is now completing MBA studies in Japan.
