Sending Snapshot Photos for Homestays

If you wish to do a homestay, snapshot photos are needed for the search. Most of the Japanese families participating in the homestay program request photos - so your chances of finding a homestay are better if you provide photos than if you do not. The photos can be anything - from family photos to portraits. The most effective photos are those that show a bit of your personality and interests, so photos showing you doing your hobbies, sports etc are appropriate. All photos for the homestay program can be sent either by postal mail or as email attachments.

By Email attachment

If you are sending your snapshot photos by email, 300 tpi is preferred but not essential.

When sending your photo please send the following information as simple text:

Family Name
First Name
Nationality
Passport Number
Name of the Program you are applying for
Commencement Date, OR if different - the month from which you would like to homestay.

By Postal Mail

If you are sending your snapshot photos by postal mail, please ensure that you:

a) On the back of each photo, write your family name and passport number.
b) Please include a letter/note with the following information:

Family Name
First Name
