The Institute offers a wide range of high quality programs from beginner level to advanced students. Academic Programs:

Yamasa's courses and programs are offered from absolute beginner levels right through to advanced levels. The 3 different academic programs are offered quarterly with 4 start dates per year. 8 start dates per year in the case of the Acceleration program.

  • Acceleration (ultra-intensive) Program)
    28 classes per week with maximum class size of 15. Format 1 commences quarterley (April, July, October, January) and has 24 group classes plus 4 computer aided language learning seminars per week. Format 2 commences every 2 weeeks and has 23 group classes plus 5 computer aided language learning seminars per week.

  • AIJP, the Academic Intensive Japanese Program
    24 classes per week. Beginner level to Pre-Advanced. Average 12.3, Maximum class size 15.

  • AJSP, the Advanced Japanese Studies Program
    24 classes per week. Advanced level (Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 or higher) only.

    AIJP students studying in the library Extension Programs (Continuing Education):

    The Institute offers 5 different extension programs. Each of these is available ALL YEAR round.

  • SILAC, Short Intensive Language Acquisition Courses
    Available for course duration of 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 weeks, there are 26 start dates per year.
    23 classes per week with the standard format (Max. class size 15) or 15 classes per week (Max. class size 6)

  • Japan Discovery (Study Tours)
    This program combines Japanese language classes for 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 weeks, with cultural activities and a 3, 5, 8 or 10 day adventure tour.
    There are start dates all year round and the maximum class size is 15.

  • Internship Program
    Computer seminar with Japanese language Operating system A 10 or 12 week program combining 6 or 8 weeks of intensive language study and 4 weeks of exposure to a Japanese language based workplace. There are start dates all year round.

  • Private/Semi-private lessons
    Available on demand with purchase of 10 lessons.

  • Corporate/Customized courses
    Provides options for groups, companies or NGO's requiring quality Japanese language training. Contact us for more details.
