As they say about travel, "Getting there is half the fun". It is also a potential problem - but one that is easily solved through preparation. In summary - please register your arrival details with us so that we can coordinate your arrival, pickup, accommodation placements etc. To make it easier for you, the Institute provides a FREE AIRPORT PICKUP SERVICE if you arrive at NAGOYA AIRPORT. Please note that it is only for Nagoya (also known as Komaki International Airport). There are other airports, but they are further away. If you arrive by train from other airports or other cities in Japan, then they will provide a FREE STATION PICKUP SERVICE if you arrive at JR OKAZAKI STATION.

If you have read each of the above files, know your arrival date, flight number, times etc then please let us know by email. There is one more important piece of information that we need to know. That is, how much luggage you will be bringing. Feel free to take as much as you need, as some of you will be arriving for stays of up to 2 years - and it is important to be comfortable - in fact it is harder to study if you are not comfortable.

So why do we ask "How much luggage will you bring???" - Because we need to help the Institute plan the pickup services taking into account the number of students arriving AND the amount of storage space required per vehicle. All of the airport pickups are made by faculty members - often unpaid and in their own time, and using their own cars - so IF you are bringing 5 suitcases, a bicycle, surfboard, pet elephant etc, then we simply need to know this in advance.

AND FINALLY - Don't delay! Please give us at least 5 days notice - more if you are arriving on a Sunday.
