None of the 3 major international airports are too far away. Nagoya is easily the most convenient and is usually cheaper than the other options because you do not need to pay the extra train fares. You would need to get a very large discount on a flight to either Tokyo or Osaka before they became cheaper in terms of the total cost of getting to Okazaki. Many train stations do not have elevators and require a lot of walking, so luggage may also be a problem if you arrive at one of the more distant airports.

The Institute provides a FREE AIRPORT PICKUP SERVICE if you arrive at NAGOYA AIRPORT. They ask you to accept their apologies for not being able to meet you at the more distant airports.

To arrange your airport pickup, we need to know (1) the day of your arrival, (2) the flight number and (3) arrival time. Please ensure that you receive an email confirming that we have received your flight details. Yamasa staff will meet you in the arrivals hall of the International terminal.

(If you arrive via a domestic flight - you may need to take the free shuttle bus to the international terminal. Ask any of the uniformed assistants if you are unsure of whether you are in the right place. Please confirm this with us in advance).
