If you would prefer to live in Yamasa's student accommodation, or if you applied too late or for some other reason
were unable to obtain a homestay, then it is also possible to visit a Japanese family for a
short duration homevisit.
Length of Homevisit: Usually students stay for an afternoon and evening meal, or stay for a weekend (1 night/2 days).
Requirements: You need to visit the Housing Office and talk with the Housing Coordinator to determine availability.
Homevisit fees: Homevisits are usually free as the families participate as volunteers. You may need to pay your own transportation. It is also advised that you take along with you a small gift. Something from your own country is usually best.
Notification: As soon as your host family is determined, the Housing Coordinator will notify you.
Basic Rules: As with the homestay there are rules. Please remember that the family is receiving you as a guest and so good manners and a preparedness to participate in family activities is appropriate.
Enjoy your stay with a Japanese Family!
