Almost each morning or lunch time during my October 1998 trip, the Shinkansen whizzed me to a new destination across Japan.  At the train stations of various cities in Kyuushu island, such as Nagasaki, Oita, and Fukuoka, I was pleasantly surprised that the kansai-tabooed-natto were sold at the kiosks.

In the middle of the compartment of the newer Shinkansen, one can find a foldable laquered table anchored by a reading lamp.  There, I enjoyed the delicious slimy gooey nothing-can-beat-it natto snacks while working on my schedules on the lap top.

Do you like natto?
Tell me one good reason why you don't fancy these beautiful morsels?
