Notes regarding resume
There is no set format for a resume. As a general rule, an A4 sized word document of several pages is preferred to the standard "Rirekisho" forms commonly used in Japan as it gives us some idea of your creativity. All relevant education and experience should be listed, from earliest to most recent. Rather than a simple list, information regarding awards, interests/hobbies outside employment, special skills etc should also include some details as to why you participated in those activities. Photographs are not essential but are considered to be an advantage. Foreign nationals resident in Japan should indicate their current visa status.

All dates mentioned should include both year and month of commencement/completion.

It is acceptable to submit a resume for a job that is not yet advertized. It has not been unusual for positions to be created specifically in order to employ some of the highly skilled people who send resumes. Resumes without Reference Numbers are kept on file for 1 year.
