Discovery Program students exploring the culinary side of Japan in an izakaya in the Pontocho area of Kyoto. Discovery runs day and overnight trips to the former capital in all seasons. An izakaya is a traditional Japanese bar, usually with a range of foods reflecting the local specialties, and a good place to unwind and meet people.
