If you are travelling across 6 times zones or more, then you are likely to suffer some jetlag on arrival. In this case it is best to arrive 2 days early. The free airport pickup service is usually available for the 2 days before your commencement ceremony/placement testing.
1. Students enrolling for 3 months or less.
Due to the number of students arriving simultaneously, we usually use a bus to provide the airport pickup. Our bus will usually leave the international terminal at 10:30am, 3:30am and 9:30pm - this will of course vary depending on the flight schedules of each student and we don't leave before everyone has cleared customs and has been accounted for. Please check the airport pickup dates (the two days before your commencement date) in the online catalog before you book your flight. If you need to arrive earlier than these dates please contact Admissions (as your early arrival may also affect accommodation). Also please inform us if you are carrying an unusually large amount of luggage.
2. Student Visa holding participants.
If you have entering Japan with a student visa, you are able to enter your accommodation from the beginning of the month you commence your program. Please feel free to arrive any day and at any time between the first day of that month and the day before your commencement date. Please ensure that you receive confirmation that we have received your flight details. As each student tends to arrive separately, we usually do not use the bus - so please contact Admissions if you are carrying an unusually large amount of luggage. (Our private cars are small!)
