The low cost location, non-profit status and long-term financial support provided by the Hattori Foundation enables Yamasa to provide the SILAC programs at cost price to international students.
There are no application fees for students enrolling in SILAC programs. All fees are denominated in Japanese Yen. There is a late fee of 10,500 yen for applicants submitting applications after the posted deadline.
As you can see from the table above, it is considerably cheaper (especially for longer term stays) if you pay all tuition in advance. This is because the administrative costs are lower, and these cost savings are passed onto you. If you pay for 6 weeks or more in advance and then need to shorten your stay, there is a full refund subject to the policies outlined in the "Refunds" file.
1) There are several discounts available. Only 1 discount can be used per enrollment.
"SILAC Plus" Tuition fees: Option A: Customized lessons - Either Private lessons or Computer Aided Language Learning (CALL) Seminars. You can choose either "Private lessons only", "CALL Seminars only", or any mixture of the two option up to a maximum of 5 per week. These classes are scheduled from either 13:40pm or 14:40pm on weekdays and are scheduled so that they do not clash with your elective classes. Option A students are also able to do Options B and C. Option B: Field trip - Offered at the end of each academic quarter. Each field trip is conducted in a small group (usual maximum number of participants is 10 per qualified teacher and guide), from the day after classes finish.
