The Refresher Course is offered as an extension (continuing education) program and as such is not formally an academic program. However students do need to have a high level of motivation to learn Japanese. Most students are graduate or university/college students.

As an absolute minimum:

1) Applicants must have completed secondary level education in their native country or country of residence.

2) Students in the Refresher program need to be 18 years or older.

3) Applicants should be either university graduates or currently enrolled in university studies. For details please contact the Admissions office.

Finally, it is not a pre-requisite but it is helpful if you have some experience of studying Japanese or a foreign language before.

Citizens of certain countries will need to find guarantors. Please check the Visa Requirements section to see if this applies to you.
