Refresher - Levels/Curriculum

The course is currently available up to Level 3 of the JLPT (for studies higher than this level, you would need to enrol in one of the Academic Programs or study in Private classes only). The reason for this is the on-going development of the curriculum for the OCJS - which is the base for the CALL system.

At the moment the CALL system is able to utilize a curriculum covering from absolute beginner to a score of approximately 350/400 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test at Level 3. This is the equivalent of around 6 months of intensive study in the AIJP if commenced from absolute beginner level.

All lessons are conducted in Japanese only using the Direct Method. The small group lessons (private if surcharge paid) uses materials in Japanese with furigana on the kanji where required. The CALL system is also in Japanese, but with a customizable interface providing language support in Chinese, Czech, English, German, Korean or Spanish where required.

The small group lessons concentrate on modern contemporary Japanese, as would be used in a semi-formal environment such as a Japanese language only workplace or in academia. If private lessons are utilized, the content can be further customized to your individual needs.
The CALL curriculum is also customizable. Students can select which skills to study, providing you with the opportunity to target and improve weaknesses. The lessons are divided into six sections:

Vocabulary, Kanji, Grammar, Conversation, Listening, and Reading
