As our costs (teacher's salaries, facilities, loan repayments for apartment purchases etc) are all denominated in yen, so are our tuition and accommodation fees. However if your bank, credit union, or whatever financial institution you use is unable to transfer in Japanese yen, or unable or unwilling to do so except at exorbitant fees, please note that it is no problem to make the payments in an equivalent currency. This is usually only a problem with banks in the USA, but if you encounter the problem anywhere please follow these steps.
1. Calculate the cost in yen of the course, accommodation and any other fees you wish to transfer in yen using the Study Cost Calculator. 2. Take this figure, and then convert it into Euro, US Dollars, Pounds Sterling, or whichever currency you are using. An online converter such as http://www.xe.net can give a quick approximation of the exchange rate. 3. Transfer that amount, in the same currency, to Yamasa's account in the table below. Do not worry if your transfer is going to end up being a little more, or a little less, than the required figure when it enters our account. If the figure falls a little short, we will still issue the documentation you require, reserve your place in the course and in the accommodation (if required) and so forth. All you would need to do is pay the balance on arrival, by which stage you would be able to use a credit card or cash etc. Similarly, if you accidently transfer slightly more than the required amount, the difference will be refunded to you in full, either on your arrival or whenever suits you.
