Enrollment in the Japanese Language and Culture Program is limited to 15-18 students. This is partly because the maximum class size is 8 students, but mainly because of logistics (micro bus size, facilities on campus, CALL laboratories etc). In the off-season, the average class size is 3 students, and the program fee is reduced to the same structure as for the larger SILAC program. The program fee includes all tuition & instruction, daily lunches except for weekends, all field trips, as well as incidentals such as course materials (not including dictionary). During overnight field trips all accommodation expenses, breakfasts and evening meals are included. Discounts are available for early payment. Payment of full fee in advance is less expensive than payment via instalments. The program fee does not include homestay or student accommodation fees, transport from airport to Yamasa (unless you use the airport limousine bus, in which case Yamasa will reimburse you for the 1700 yen fare in full), transport between homestay and Yamasa, travel insurance, air fares to/from Japan etc.

Notes regarding fees:
1) There are several discounts available. Only 1 discount can be used per enrollment. Discounts apply only to tuition, not to accommodation or homestays.

2) To compare various cost options and combinations, please use the Study Cost Calculator. 3) Due to higher expenses, a small surcharge is required for those with special dietary needs (Lacto-ovo vegetarian, Lacto vegetarian, Ovo vegetarian, Vegan etc) during the catered lunches due to the higher costs incurred. The surcharge is 525 yen per meal. 4) Completion of fee payment is due no later than 35 days prior to commencement. There is a late fee of 10500 yen for payments made less than 35 days prior to commencement. |
