Acceleration Program - Fees

The low cost location, non-profit status and long-term financial support provided by the Hattori Foundation enables Yamasa to provide the programs at cost price to international students. The tuition fees below do not quite cover the cost of providing the program, but support from the Hattori Foundation enables the center to provide the intensive format.

The program fee includes all small class instruction, all field trips, as well as incidentals such as course materials. During overnight field trips all accommodation expenses, breakfasts and evening meals are included. The program fee does not include homestay or student accommodation fees, transport from airport to Yamasa (unless you use the airport limousine bus, in which case Yamasa will reimburse you for the 1700 yen fare in full), transport between homestay and Yamasa, travel insurance, air fares to/from Japan etc.

Notes regarding fees:

1) There are several discounts available. Only 1 discount can be used per enrollment.

  • Re-enrolling students (Yamasa alumni) receive a 20% discount on tuition.
  • 20% discount is available for tuition payments completed 16 weeks prior to enrollment.
  • 10% discount is available for tuition payments completed 12 weeks prior to enrollment.
  • Students enrolling via the studyabroad office of their college or university may receive a 10% discount on tuition. (Other discounts)

    2) There is no application fee. In the event that you need to cancel, a full refund is provided less bank fees and a 5250 yen administrative charge.

    3) Due to high expenses, a small surcharge is required for those with special dietary needs (Lacto-ovo vegetarian, Lacto vegetarian, Ovo vegetarian, Vegan etc) during the catered lunches due to the higher costs incurred. There are usually a maximum of 3 catered lunches per month. The surcharge is 525 yen per meal. This can be paid after arrival if preferred. There is no surcharge for evening meals & breakfasts during field trips.

    4) Completion of fee payment is due no later than 35 days prior to commencement. There is a late fee of 10500 yen for payments made less than 35 days prior to commencement.

(Please read the refund policy for full information on refunds)
