In recent years the number of students bringing dependent children with them to Yamasa has increased, and as part of our mission various facilities have been adapted or developed. In some cases, one of the parents has been Japanese, in other cases both parents have been foreign citizens. In the majority of cases one parent has usually looked after the dependent child(ren), and usually this has been where the spouse is Japanese. The Hattori Foundation is able to provide a limited range of options for child care, including Creche and Kindergarten placement. Creche facilities are available for children aged from 1 to 4 at Megumi Wonderland, located about 200 meters from the ACJS campus, and for children from 4 years of age the long established Megumi Kindergarten (founded in 1933) has a brand new facility about 5 minutes walk from the ACJS campus. Each facility is modern, meets all accreditation requirements and have lower than usual staff/children ratios. Nutritious food is provided. If special dietary considerations are required (allergies etc), please provide full information in advance. Please also note that neither of these are "international", the staff are usually only able to speak Japanese, and all activities, enrollments and consultations would be conducted in the Japanese language. The websites for each facility are as follows (Japanese only, opens new window):
Megumi Wonderland (creche)
A range of discounts are available if the parent or parents are enrolled in the ACJS and/or Kurashi-no-gakkou. Please contact us for details of these discounts. Children of school age would be able to study in local schools (elementary, middle high school, senior high school) provided appropriate visas were held. If you have any questions regarding any of the facilities available please contact us as soon as possible. Questions regarding this file...
