Yamasa requires passport sized photographs from all applicants for legal documents, acceptance letters, student identification cards and certificates. You also need to send snapshots of your client if they are applying for a homestay (see below for details). These can be sent either by postal mail or as email attachments. (The only exceptions are the passport photographs required for the student visa application - in this case the photographs must be sent by postal mail with the visa application). If your client wants to do a homestay, snapshot photos are needed for the search. Most of the Japanese families
participating in the homestay program request photos - so chances of finding a homestay are better if your client provides
photos. The photos can be anything - from family photos to portraits. The most effective photos are those that show a bit
of your client's personality and interests, so photos showing hobbies, sports etc are appropriate. |
If you are sending photos by email:
1) Send passport photos as 413 X 413 pixel size (300 dpi) if possible. Send homestay photos as 300dpi, any size.
2) Save the photograph using your passport number as the file name (for example if your passport number is K0598181 then
save the file as K0598181.jpg). For homestay photos, use a separate name for each photo (eg K0598181a.jpg, K0598181b.jpg, etc.)
3) When sending your photo please send the following information as simple text:
Family Name
First Name
Nationality
Passport Number
Name of the Program
Commencement Date

Please send your photos to the following address photos@yamasa.org
